The eagerly awaited conference takes place on September 14-15. The main theme for 2023 will revolve around navigating the regulatory challenges and implications of MDR transition phases.
Hamburg, Germany. (Aug 10, 2023) – NSF, a leading global public health and safety organization, in partnership with Life Science Nord (LSN), is pleased to announce the 12th Medical Technology Symposium. The event, scheduled for September 14th and 15th, will take place at the Steigenberger Hotel in Hamburg, Germany.
Recognized as one of Germany’s most influential medical technology networking events, the Medical Technology Symposium will empower medical device industry professionals with insights and strategies to navigate the regulatory challenges imposed by the newly introduced Regulation (EU) 2023/607. This event will be an invaluable opportunity to learn from and network with experts from the European Commission, industry leaders, notified bodies, and other stakeholders.
“The Medical Technology Symposium offers a comprehensive platform to discuss and understand the new MDR transition periods, how to leverage them, and their implications for sustainability,” said Oliver Christ, Managing Director, NSF PROSYSTEM. “The Symposium will also delve into the crucial topic of the Harmonization of European Standards.”
This year marks the 12th Medical Technology Symposium, a testament to the successful collaboration between NSF and Life Science Nord. Importantly, the symposium will serve as a platform to review the experiences six months post the enactment of regulation 2023/607 and provide practical guidance for sustainable implementations.
The EU's regulation (EU) 2023/607, published on March 20, 2023, extends transition periods for certain medical devices and In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVDs). This extension was primarily driven by the lack of conformity assessment capacities by Notified Bodies and the unpreparedness of many manufacturers to meet the strengthened requirements of the MDR within the remaining timeframe of the old transition periods.
Tickets are limited and priced at €890 each, with discounts for group bookings and Life Science Nord members. The agenda can be viewed here. To register for the 12th Medical Technology Symposium, please contact NSF at TrainingCenterGermany@nsf.org.
